Activities to Look for in a Red Deer Senior-Living Community

Posted on May 29th, 2021

If you happen to be considering a senior living community in the Red Deer area, we have some suggestions for what to look for. You will want to find a place where you will be happy long-term, such as at our Hamlets at Red Deer. Here, below, is a list of activities that we recommend.

Exercise

Exercise is good for the body, mind, and soul. So, a senior-living community should have different exercise-type activities available for you to choose from. Classes and group activities are also ways to socialize with others, keep fit, and make new friends. We have both exercise classes and a walking club.

Outings

Sometimes it is fun to go on group outings. Look for a variety of organized outings and bus trips. At the Hamlets at Red Deer, we arrange regular outings to pubs, hockey nights, and football nights. COVID aside, you can even see live entertainment.

Social Interaction

Aside from the organized classes and outings mentioned above, you should look for designated social areas both indoors and out. We have a lounge and social areas and plenty of green space just for taking a walk.

Location

Location is always a consideration when choosing a place to live. Red Deer, a lovely community that lies alongside the Red Deer River, is a great location just about equal distances from both Calgary and Edmonton. Another benefit is having a quiet location with easy access to your desired outside activities.

We are located in a quiet area that has easy access to shopping, restaurants, and the highway. If you are looking for a senior living community in Red Deer, Alberta, we hope that you will consider the Hamlets at Red Deer and visit us to see everything that we offer.
